DCTC SOFTBALL OPENS 2026 SEASON!
It's that time of year to roll the bats and balls out for some exciting Blue Knights Softball! The Blue Knights open their season Friday and Saturday, February 20th and 21st in the Early Bird Tournament at the Rochester Dome in Rochester, MN. The team plays four games against regional opponents at the tournament. Blue Knights Softball next travels to Cocoa Beach, FL to play 8 games in the Space Coast Spring Games from March 11th- 17th. They will then return and play teams from all over the Midwest. This year the team will host the Region 13 Tournament in Rosemount, MN April 30th-May 2nd.
The team is led by a strong group of returning players and a talented group of first year players.
Lily Gilmore (So. CF; Lino Lakes, MN) leads the team defensively and is a terror on the base paths. She will provide quick striking offense. Kayla Buck (So. C/ OF; Inver Grove Heights, MN) is a solid, hard-working player with hitting power who will lead the team. Aliyah Passmore (So. Corners; Apple Valley, MN) led the team in hitting last year. She provides power to all fields. Anna Pederson (So. Utility; South St. Paul, MN) will ignite the team as our leadoff hitter along with being our most versatile player defensively. Madi Peterson (So. P/2B; Ellsworth, WI) brings the most experience on the mound and will also play 2nd base. She drives the ball with her bat and is a tough out. Avery Franco (So. P/OF; West St. Paul, MN) will pitch in key spots this year in the rotation along with outfield duties. She has shown big hit potential. Makayla Friedges (So. C/2B; Elko New Market, MN) provides a spark with her bat and will make plays defensively.
The first year players will bring a lot to the table! Emma Voth (Fr. P/OF; Goodhue, MN) will contribute big innings this year and will also play in the outfield. Bella Kruckow (Fr. Utility; Apple Valley, MN) adds great strength to our team because of how well she plays at multiple positions. She has big hit potential. Sophie Quesenberry (Fr. Corners; Elk River, MN) brings power to the lineup and solid play to the field. Ryli Kendrick (Fr. SS; Burnsville, MN) brings the infield together with her consistent defensive play and line drive potential. Mackenzie Velishek (Fr. P/Utility; Morristown, MN) will play multiple positions. She will give us quality pitching innings along with a strong bat.
