Jesus Wilson Hired As Head Wrestling Coach At DCTC
01/11/07
Dakota County Technical College is pleased to announce Jesus Wilson as the new DCTC Blue Knights head wrestling coach.
"Coach Wilson has outstanding qualifications and will be a huge asset to our program. Our athletes will truly benefit from his leadership," said Cam Stoltz, director of student life.
Wilson will assume all responsibilities as head wrestling coach, effective immediately, and has great optimism for the program.
"I am looking forward to working with these athletes and moving the DCTC wrestling program forward. This is a great opportunity for me," said Wilson.
Wilson has served as a volunteer coach for Augsburg College, an assistant wrestling coach at the Virginia Military Institute, head wrestling coach at the Marine Military Academy, and was a counselor at J. Robinson Wrestling Camp.
Wilson wrestled for Upper Iowa University, winning two NCAA Division III National Championships, and was runner-up in the 2004 Olympic Qualifier. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreation from Upper Iowa University and has Truck Driver Certificate from Dakota County Technical College.
"My plan is for our team to work hard these last few weeks of the season, perform well in the remaining tournaments, and hopefully DCTC can walk away with an All-American wrestler," said Wilson.
The DCTC Blue Knights wrestling team will be back in action on January 20 in the Minnesota West Open.
