DCTC Wrestlers Lose Close Match To Rochester

ROSEMOUNT, Minn.- The Blue Knight wrestling team lost a heart breaker to Rochester Community and Technical College on Nov. 23. Despite taking a 19-12 lead into the 197-pound match, DCTC could not hold on for the win, ultimately falling 21-19.
In that pairing, Kyle Muhlberg (Fr.- Minnetonka) got caught after his shot and was pinned with a minute remaining by RCTC's Collin Byrnes.
In the following heavyweight match, Jesse Kahn of RCTC beat Casey Hellenberg of DCTC 3-0 to seal the victory for the Yellow Jackets.
Coach Gerten said he was very happy with the performance of most of the team's wrestlers.
"We just cannot get pinned 3 times," Gerten said. "Our guys need to stay off their backs and keep fighting."
Gerten noted that several Blue Knights turned in solid performances, including: Nate Brackenbury, Aaron Myers, Perry Olson, and Carl Troje. Next up for DCTC is the tough Moorhead tournament on Dec. 4.
