Blue Knights Soccer Has Mixed Results Against St. Olaf

09/14/05

NORTHFIELD, Minn.— The DCTC Blue Knights soccer teams emerged with a split decision following their Sept. 13 trip to St. Olaf College, with the men’s squad prevailing 2-1 and the women’s team losing 4-1 on Rolf Mellby Field.

Coach Cam Stoltz said the women’s squad seemed to lack focus in the loss against the Oles.

“Our women could not play nearly as well as they did last week,” he said. “We just did not execute well, and will have to do better against Rochester (Sept. 14) if we expect to win.”

On the men’s side, Stoltz said it was good to win such a close match-up with a tough competitor as the team looks forward to hosting Marshalltown on Saturday.

The men’s team is now 6-2-0 and the women are 2-3-0. Following a women’s game in Rochester on Sept. 14, both teams face Marshalltown on Sept. 17 - (Women at 1 p.m. and men at 3 p.m.).

The Knights’ home field is at the Rich Valley Sports Complex in Inver Grove Heights.
