15 players receive NJCAA All-Region Academic Award

Fifteen Blue Knights soccer players from both the men and women's teams have received the NJCAA All-Region Academic Award in conjunction with the end of 2009 fall semester at Dakota County Technical College. Players are awarded First Team honors by achieving a grade point average of 3.5 of higher on a 4.0 scale. Second Team honors are awarded to players with GPA scores exceeding 3.0.

Athletic Coordinator Cam Stoltz said, "Academic recognition is what we strive for and what we ultimately want our student athletes to achieve. We are proud that roughly one third of our players received this academic recognition."

Stoltz, who is head coach of both teams, also mentioned that up to four of the recognized players are potentially in line for the prestigious NJCAA Academic All- American honors in June, 2010, an award that considers two years of participation in academic and athletic programs.
