Blue Knight Athletes Give Soccer Clinic To Local Kids

08/22/04

Blue Knight Soccer Players conducted a skills clinic on Sunday, Aug. 22 for the Burnsville Soccer Club at North River Hills Park. The clinic is part of a new effort to reach local soccer communities and help build relationships and understanding of the DCTC men's and women's soccer programs. The clinic also provided basic coaching, demonstration and encouragement from former youth players in the Burnsville area.

Some 140 grade-school-aged children ran through the seven-station skills camp. DCTC hopes to conduct similar camps and clinics in surrounding communities as part of an ongoing effort to reach out to youth soccer groups.

The men's and women's players will return to the North River Hills Park complex on Saturday, Aug. 28 to play in their season openers vs. Iowa Western Community College. The Blue Knights have been preparing for the season opener since practices began back on Aug. 9.
