Steve Litt

Steve LittDCTC hired Steve Litt as a Blue Knights soccer assistant coach in 2008. Litt is originally from Keswick in the county of Cumbria in extreme northwest England. He first arrived in Minnesota when he joined the Minnesota Kicks of the North American Soccer League (NASL).

His professional career as a soccer player started with the Blackpool Football Club. He soon headed for the Luton Town Football Club where he was sent on loan to Arsenal when the legendary football club that played First Division in Arsenal Stadium in Highbury, London. As a star player for Minnesota Kicks, Litt competed in every game during the team's existence from 1976 until 1981.

In 1977, Steve was named to the NASL All Star Roster as an honorable mention defender. Also on that roster were soccer superstars Pelé, Franz Beckenbauer and George Best. Steve is ninth on the NASL All-Time Games Played list with 220. After the Kicks, Litt played for the San Jose Earthquakes. He also coached the Earthquakes for one season in the mid 1980s.

Litt lives in Burnsville, Minn., with his wife, Lila. The couple has two children, Steve, 28, a former high school soccer and hockey standout who lives and works in San Francisco, Calif., and Jenna, 22, a former Holy Angels soccer star who went on to be a high-scoring forward for the College of St. Catherine Wildcats.
