Ben Briesacher Heading for Fort Hays State

Ben Briesacher has accepted an offer to play baseball at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kan. A graduate of Prior Lake High School in Prior Lake, Minn., Briesacher played two seasons at first base and in the outfield for Dakota County Technical College. He batted .389 in 2009 with a team-leading 58 hits and 49 RBIs.

The FHSU Tigers compete in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, or MIAA. In 2009, the Tigers went 20–20, finishing in the middle of the pack in the 11-member, NCAA Division II conference.

Briesacher also plays first base for the Twins in the Arizona Collegiate Wood Bat League. The Twins beat the Braves 5–1 in the season opener and are now 1–0 in the ACWBL, which features 15 teams.
