DCTC Baseball Shares MCAC Southern Division Title

Heading for MCAC State Tourney
DCTC Blue Knights baseball earned a share of the MCAC Southern Division championship, tying for first place with the Riverland Community College Blue Devils. Both teams finished 9–3 in division play.
The Knights are on their way to the 2009 MCAC State Tournament, Saturday and Sunday, May 2–3, in St. Cloud, Minn. After losing the coin toss tiebreaker, DCTC is seeded fourth out of eight. The Knights face the Mesabi Range Community & Technical College Norsemen in the quarterfinals Friday, May 1, at 11 a.m. The second game starts at 5 p.m.
If DCTC wins the first two games, the team will qualify for the NJCAA Div. III Region 13 Tournament, May 9–11, in Willmar, Minn. The same holds true if the team loses one of the first two games, but goes on to win the third place game on Saturday. Anything less than third place at the state tourney will end the season.
