» The History of DCTC Baseball
Dakota County Technical College started the Blue Knights baseball program in the spring of 2003 at the club level. The following spring, the program made the jump to a varsity sport with a 5-30 record its first ever varsity season.
In 2005, the team posted a 19-20-1 record and qualified for the Minnesota Community College Conference (MCCC) State Tournament.
The next year, the Blue Knights turned in the program’s first winning season with a record of 23-17. The team not only made the state tournament two years running, but also advanced to the Region XIII Tournament for the first time.
In 2007, DCTC men’s baseball continued to build a reputation for winning by completing their best season on record, going 25-18. The Blue Knights went on to play in the MCCC State Tournament for the third consecutive year.
2008 was the fourth year in a row the team improved their record completing the season with an impressive record of 31-16. The Knights finished 3rd in the Minnesota Community College Conference state tournament, second in the Region XIII tournament, and was ranked among the top NJCAA DIII teams in the nation.
