Blue Knight Express Heads South To Open 2004 Season

03/09/04

The DCTC Blue Knights baseball squad hit the road on March 9 for a 10-game sweep across Arkansas and Oklahoma. A full roster of 25 young men took the trip, which will include games against University of the Ozarks, Carl Albert State College, and the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith from March 10-14. Boarding the bus before the 12-hour ride down Interstate 35, Coach Kerry Lurken expressed confidence in his team's abilities.

"We will field a competitive team this year, and I'm really looking forward to this experience," Lurken said. Lurken is entering his first year as the Blue Knights' skipper. The team will host its first home opener on April 2 at 2 p.m. vs. Anoka-Ramsey Community College. DCTC will play its home games this year at the Rich Valley Complex in Inver Grove Heights. The Blue Knights' first Minnesota game of the year will be played March 30 in a doubleheader vs. Ridgewater Community College in Willmar.
